Deleting your Sendant data
Effective 29 June 2026 · Applies to the Sendant app (io.sendant), developed by Yoni Ryabinski (yoniryabinski.com).
Sendant is local-first. Your identity keys, your message history, and your attachments are created and stored on your own device — not in an account on our servers. There is no account to close and no profile for us to hold, so deleting your data is something you do directly on your device, at any time.
How to request that your data is deleted
Because your data lives on your device, you delete it yourself — no request form or waiting period required. Choose whichever applies:
Clear your Sendant data (keep the app installed)
- Open your device Settings → Apps and select Sendant.
- Tap Storage, then Clear storage (also labeled "Clear data" on some devices).
- This erases your local Sendant database — your message history and attachments — and your on-device cryptographic identity. The app stays installed but resets to a fresh state.
Remove everything (uninstall)
- Press and hold the Sendant icon on your home screen (or open Settings → Apps → Sendant).
- Choose Uninstall.
- Uninstalling removes the app together with its local databases and cryptographic keys from your device.
What gets deleted, and what is kept
| Data | What happens | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Cryptographic identity & keys | Deleted from the platform secure store (Android Keystore) when you clear storage or uninstall. | Removed immediately on your device. Not held by us. |
| Message history & attachments | Deleted from your device's local storage when you clear storage or uninstall. | Removed immediately on your device. Not stored by us in readable form. |
| Profile name you optionally entered | A local label only; removed with your local data. | Removed immediately on your device. Not held by us. |
| Undelivered encrypted envelopes (in transit) | Opaque, end-to-end encrypted ciphertext briefly held by our store-and-forward mailbox so an offline contact can receive it. We cannot read it. | Auto-expires and is deleted (currently up to 30 days), or sooner once delivered. |
| Connection metadata (e.g. IP) | Standard network data inherent to any internet service; never used to build a profile of you. | Transient, operational only. |
Need help, or want something else deleted?
Sendant holds no readable account data about you, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server on your behalf. If you have a question about deletion or believe we hold data you want removed, email privacy@sendant.io and we will help.
